You
will find that Training at our Studio is a completely different
experience from that MegaMall Gym up the street. Our Trainers actually
care about you and your needs and aren't interested in selling you
on anything but our service. We will always give you the attention
and privacy you deserve and be respectful of you and your valuable
time. Whether you decide to train as an individual, in a group setting
or in a class, you will love the PhysiCore "One Trainer at
a Time" principle. The Trainer and the Studio are yours alone
for your session so
no waiting for equipment
no listening
to trainers talk to one another about pay day
no distractions
from gym members
no pressure for appearances
no reason
not to try it out!
You can design your entire wellness program each week right here
with us.
- Take a private session to focus on your individual needs and
past injuries that may be keeping you from being your best or
causing you pain and discomfort
- Join a small group for additional encouragement from other people
with the same fitness goals and interests
- Try out a small class where you still receive the attention
of a Trainer to correct form, modify, and motivate
- Specialize in Pilates Apparatus, Prenatal/Postpartum Exercise,
or Performance Golf to complete your program and maximize results.
- And don't forget about the specialty population of Youth/
Junior Training
Above
all, we aren't going to leave you when times are tough. Our Trainers
are professionals and fitness is our passion. Once you are a client,
you become part of the PhysiCore Phamily (woops, that should be
Family) and we will always be a resource for you, even if you decide
to work out on your own. We strive to establish solid, long-term
relationships with our clients, whether they are visiting us weekly
or monthly or just checking in occasionally. Our approach has been
working since 1991, with hundreds of clients who can call our studio
"Home". We hope to welcome you soon, too.
How to Choose the Right Personal Trainer
Certification is the first thing to look for... A personal trainer
should be certified because that's your assurance you're working
with a trainer who has the knowledge to provide you with a safe
and effective workout. Not just any certification will do. You want
a personal trainer who has been certified by a nationally recognized
certifying organization, like ACE, which happens to be the largest
non-profit fitness-certifying organization in the world.
Ask for references...
Ask the trainer for the names and phone numbers of other clients
with goals similar to yours. Call to see if they were pleased with
their workouts, if the trainer was punctual and prepared, and if
they felt their individual needs were addressed. The best personal
trainer to hire is the one others give high marks to.
Look for a personal trainer who is able to assist you with your
special needs...
A personal trainer should always have you fill out a health history
questionnaire to determine your needs or limitations. If you have
a medical condition or a past injury, a personal trainer should
design a session that takes these into account. If you're under
a doctor's care, a personal trainer should discuss any exercise
concerns with your doctor, and should ask for a health screening
or release from your doctor.
Choose a personal trainer who accommodates your needs...
A personal trainer should be able to design moves that help you
get the most out of your workout - whether you're a beginner, intermediate
or an advanced fitness participant. And you certainly should not
feel acute pain during or after it.
Look
for a personal trainer who is interested in you...
A good instructor will want everyone to feel welcome. Making you
feel welcome means the instructor should try to learn your name,
make eye contact during the session, and most important, put your
workout before his or hers.
Make sure the emphasis is on personal accomplishment...
A good personal trainer will emphasize personal accomplishment and
won't create a competitive environment. The session should focus
on improving or maintaining your health, not just on looking better.
Select a good teacher...
A good teacher will explain the benefits of each exercise and demonstrate
how to do the exercise.
A good personal trainer will also demonstrate modifications for
intermediate and advanced movements and explain if you should avoid
an exercise if you have an existing injury. A big part of being
a good instructor is the ability to be a good teacher.
 Be
sure you're having fun...
The right instructor will be dedicated to helping you enjoy the
session, committed to making your workout the best it can be and
will be able to translate his or her enthusiasm into a fun class.
Remember, the only way you will stay with a program of regular exercise
is if you look forward to attending the session.
And speaking of FUN... if you've got kids, check out the PhysiCore
Phundamental Youth/ Junior Training Program.
Check the intensity of the exercise and the way the personal
trainer relates to you...
For an effective workout, you must exercise at a certain intensity
during session. The personal trainer should have you take your heart
rate or teach you how to rate your level of exertion using the perceived
exertion scale.
The final decision is yours...
Choosing a personal trainer is a very personal decision. PhysiCore
personal trainers are here to help.
